Heika for (advanced), Hana Isho in Tall Pots (beginner)
Our advanced students will look at Heika. Heika is a classical Ikebana style created for use with tall containers. Students will work with three distinct methods, each exploring different expressions of line, form, and movement:
Upright Heika – Strong vertical lines create a bold and balanced composition.
Slanting Heika – A gentle angle introduces natural movement and flow.
Cascading Heika – Flowers and foliage spill gracefully over the edge, creating a dynamic and captivating effect.
For beginners, students will learn about Hana Isho. Hana Isho is a basic, structured style that uses two lines and two materials to create simple yet expressive designs.
In this session, you will gain an understanding of these foundational styles and learn how to apply them in your own arrangements, developing confidence in working with tall pots.
All day classes are £50. You will also need to purchase the flowers separately which can cost anything up to £20 extra.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
As the discipline of Ikebana follows a strict curriculum, if you are new to Ikebana, you will start at the beginning of the curriculum for any class you attend. You can find the curriculum here.
