All-day: Winter Landscape and Advanced Hana Isho
This class combines the study of Winter Landscape arrangements with advanced techniques in Hana Isho design, offering senior students an opportunity to deepen their skills and artistic understanding.
In the Advanced Hana Isho section, you will explore the One Row and Circular styles, which introduce a third line and material to create greater depth and complexity. Additionally, Radial and One Row designs will be studied with a focus on the precise placement of materials to emphasise the natural form and beauty of each flower. These advanced techniques work to enhance balance and harmony within the composition, furthering your mastery of this traditional art form.
The Winter Landscape portion of the class centers on creating seasonal arrangements that reflect the unique qualities and atmosphere of winter. Drawing on the principles of landscape Ikebana, you will learn to select and arrange materials to convey the stillness, austerity, and subtle beauty of the winter season.
Together, these two elements provide a comprehensive experience in both technical refinement and seasonal expression, encouraging a thoughtful approach to Ikebana practice.

This class explores the full range of Moribana arrangements created by the Ohara School, focusing on the three primary styles: Upright, Slanting, and Water-Reflecting. Each style offers a unique way to express balance, harmony, and natural movement through the careful placement of materials.
Upright Moribana: features materials arranged vertically, conveying strength and stability.

All-day: Rimpa, Bunjin and Morimono
This class offers a rich exploration of three distinct styles within the Ohara School, tailored to different levels of experience.
Rimpa, inspired by a traditional Japanese art movement, is not a conventional flower arrangement but a recreation of paintings using plant materials. It emphasizes nature through vibrant colours, layering techniques, and seasonal themes. The concept of wabi-sabi, which embraces imperfection, enhances the timeless beauty and tranquility of Rimpa compositions. In this class, you will learn to identify and incorporate the materials featured in Rimpa paintings into your arrangements.
For advanced students, the class includes an introduction to Bunjin Theory, a contemporary Ikebana style influenced by Chinese painters. Bunjin embraces asymmetry and a free-flowing approach, focusing on personal expression and the natural beauty of materials rather than rigid structure.
Beginner and intermediate students will focus on Morimono, a still-life style set upon a black or lacquered board. Morimono falls within the Bunjin category and is characterised by its elegant, minimalist display of natural objects, combining flowers and fruits in harmonious arrangements.
Throughout the session, you will engage in practical work to apply these concepts, deepening your understanding and ability to create original compositions in these styles.
All day classes are £50. You will also need to purchase the flowers separately which can cost anything up to £20 extra.

Through guided exploration, you will develop confidence in expressing your own style while maintaining a connection to the principles of Ikebana.
