This class focuses on Morimono, the elegant still-life style of Ikebana, tailored for the festive season. Morimono arrangements are traditionally displayed on black or lacquered boards and combine natural objects such as flowers and fruits in a minimalist and harmonious composition.
In this session, you will explore how to incorporate seasonal and festive materials into Morimono designs, creating arrangements that reflect the spirit of the holiday period. Through practical work, you will develop an understanding of balance, simplicity, and natural beauty, while learning to adapt Morimono techniques for special occasions.
This class offers an opportunity to blend tradition with seasonal expression, resulting in striking and meaningful floral displays perfect for festival celebrations.
Half day classes are £30. You will also need to purchase the flowers separately which can cost anything up to £20 extra.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
As the discipline of Ikebana follows a strict curriculum, if you are new to Ikebana, you will start at the beginning of the curriculum for any class you attend. You can find the curriculum here.
