This class combines the study of Winter Landscape arrangements with advanced techniques in Hana Isho design, offering senior students an opportunity to deepen their skills and artistic understanding.
In the Advanced Hana Isho section, you will explore the One Row and Circular styles, which introduce a third line and material to create greater depth and complexity. Additionally, Radial and One Row designs will be studied with a focus on the precise placement of materials to emphasise the natural form and beauty of each flower. These advanced techniques work to enhance balance and harmony within the composition, furthering your mastery of this traditional art form.
The Winter Landscape portion of the class centers on creating seasonal arrangements that reflect the unique qualities and atmosphere of winter. Drawing on the principles of landscape Ikebana, you will learn to select and arrange materials to convey the stillness, austerity, and subtle beauty of the winter season.
Together, these two elements provide a comprehensive experience in both technical refinement and seasonal expression, encouraging a thoughtful approach to Ikebana practice.
All day classes are £50. You will also need to purchase the flowers separately which can cost anything up to £20 extra.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
As the discipline of Ikebana follows a strict curriculum, if you are new to Ikebana, you will start at the beginning of the curriculum for any class you attend. You can find the curriculum here.
