This class offers an introduction to two key arrangement styles from the Ohara School of Ikebana: Hana Isho and Moribana.
Hana Isho is a basic, structured style that uses two lines and two materials to create simple yet expressive designs. You will learn the intricacies of these designs and gain confidence in how to create them.
The session also explores Moribana, focusing on its three primary styles: Upright, Slanting, and Water-Reflecting.
Upright Moribana: features materials arranged in a straight, upward direction, creating a strong and stable composition.
Slanting Moribana: positions materials diagonally, introducing movement and a natural, flowing feel.
Water-Reflecting Moribana: is inspired by reflections in water, with materials placed low in the container, some extending horizontally over the waterline.
This class is designed to help you understand the structure and expression of both Hana Isho and Moribana, while building your confidence in the Ohara School's approach to floral design.
All day classes are £50. You will also need to purchase the flowers separately which can cost anything up to £20 extra.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
As the discipline of Ikebana follows a strict curriculum, if you are new to Ikebana, you will start at the beginning of the curriculum for any class you attend. You can find the curriculum here.
