Half-Day: Rimpa (advanced), One Row (beginners)

  • Harbridge, Court Barn Lane Chichester, England, PO20 United Kingdom (map)

Rimpa (advanced), One Row (beginners)
In this class, advanced students will explore Rimpa, an expressive Ohara form inspired by classical Japanese Rimpa painting. Students focus on dynamic line, rhythm, and movement, using materials and containers to create bold yet elegant compositions. The class focuses on refining shin–soe–tai relationships, spatial awareness, and proportion, while encouraging creative interpretation within the Rimpa tradition. Designed for students with a strong foundation in Ohara techniques.

For beginners, the class introduces One Row, a foundational Ohara form that emphasizes simplicity, line, and clarity. Students work with a limited number of stems to learn shin–soe–tai structure, balance, and spatial harmony. The class builds confidence in material selection, container use, and proportion, providing a solid base for further Ohara study.

Half day classes are £30. You will also need to purchase the flowers separately which can cost anything up to £20 extra.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
